Her birth date was March 29, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Gerina Michelle was her first name. Gerina Stevenson was born to Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). She is Mexican-American by heritage however she has an American nation by birth. Since she was a child she has had a strong desire to participate in athletics. Gerina began to play golf when she was fifteen. Gerina finished her high-school education in Goddard High School. In high school she won the state championship golf tournament in New Mexico. In addition, she was a volleyball player at the national level. She was enrolled at Texas's University of Texas, Texas in the academic year. While in her senior years, she won each tournament that was entered. During her undergraduate career she was named Conference USA individual champion player of the year and UTEP Female Athletics Player of the Year.
